Major Activities of WHARF include
I. Training of Care Givers
The uniqueness of the program is that the faculties mentor the community-based physicians and counselors in identified high-risk communities. WHARF provides a platform for clinicians, nurses, paramedics and counselors to acquire knowledge in the areas of their specialization as they relate to HIV/AIDS. International faculty from Harvard & Mumbai delivers training to the Primary Care Givers who are later certified by HMI.

II. Community Development
- State Reserve Police Force- WHARF conducts training programs for the 'State Reserve Police Force' (SRPF) of Maharashtra. Spouses of these personnel are also being sensitized simultaneously. It goes without saying that these programs have been well appreciated by the force.
WHARF has also successfully carried on the trainings for the 'State Reserve Police Force' (SRPF) of Mumbai and Pune.
- WHARF in coordination with API (Aktionsgemeinschaft Partner Indiens), a NGO based in Munich, Germany organized training programs for community based paramedic professional. The participants in this program belonged to Jhabua, a tribal community in western part of Madhya Pradesh. Awareness Programs are also conducted for the general tribal population of Jhabua.
- Awareness sessions on 'Myths and Misconceptions on HIV & AIDS' have been conducted for various corporate bodies. Senior and mid level management people are informed on basics of HIV& AIDS through presentation and group activities. Similarly, sessions are also designed for factory workers and migrant labors in their local dialects to explain them about prevention, care& support of HIV& AIDS.

III. WHARF Youth
This is an initiative taken up by the students of academic and professional colleges of Mumbai and Aurangabad to spread awareness on HIV and AIDS. They reach their peer groups of different schools, colleges, and youth based organizations like BPO, Modeling agencies and dance troops etc., to create awareness on HIV& AIDS. Visit Wharf youth on

IV. Technical Tie-up with UNDP
WHARF has linkage with UNDP (United Nations Development Program) where online consultations are provided to queries on
www.youandaids.org. Once its queries are posted on the website, the answers are provided by WHARF faculty within 24 hours of posting.
V. Program in Aurangabad
Recently WHARF has launched similar programs in Aurangabad that is to conduct trainings for the health care providers, clinicians and general population. Instead of direct intervention WHARF will coordinate with local NGOs, Government bodies and corporate giants based in Aurangabad. Emphasis is being given on community intervention program and to provide nutritional support to children infected with HIV.
Aurangabad Youth wing is already been established and building their capacity is in process. Some corporate has shown interest to work with WHARF and create awareness on HIV& AIDS. Others want to develop HIV& AIDS Policy for their workplace.
VI. Research on Food Security and Nutrition
WHARF in association with Amsterdam University has conducting a short research amongst the HIV infected and affected children of Aurangabad. This research is being conducted with the support of NAP+ (Aurangabad Network of Positive People), Government Dental College, Aurangabad and MSW students.
The objective of this research is to understand the food security amongst the household and children who are affected or infected with HIV& AIDS.
